:: Update 2019-11-01 :: Togo from TBL was kind enough to register the domain from the ether and got in contact with me to get it running again (for historical purposes). I had it up for 2 years from 2015 or so but decided to discontinue paying to keep it running so pulled it down again, so thank you to Togo for deciding to re-register the domain in October 2019 :) ~Yukon It was only in 2015 that I had the money for data recovery (hard drive circuit board fried and I couldn't find another compatible one) and this website was one of the things I recovered. Somehow I landed up with 4 differently partially corrupt versions and had to spend 3 evenings getting working parts from each one and rewriting some code, but 10 years later here it is, mostly for historical purposes and your enjoyment :) ~Yukon :: What's available on Balto Central? :: 822 Fan art images, 88 fan fiction works, 16 wallpapers and 6 other goodies have been submitted by the various members. As far as the community goes, 11712 reviews have been written for the various fan works, 71286 messages have been posted on the shout board and 221 people have signed the guestbook. (Thank you everyone!) Other website feature contents include 370 Screenshots, 61 Links, 38 Polls and 8 Awards Won. |

:: Chat v1.6 :: (14 December 2005) I've made some neat improvements to the chat, including a message on the front page of this website telling you how many users are in chat (if there are any), and protection of your member usernames: you have to login to chat using your Balto Central username and password to use your member username (this prevents identity theft). I've made a few other improvements, too... :: Webring :: (2 December 2005) Balto Web Ring added to front page. :: More improvements :: (22 November 2005) The functionality to ban users isn't finished, but it's been improved, and I've found a nice programming trick to help with the website - using it I managed to cut 67 lines of code down to 9. Not that that means anything to most ppl here, but it effectively cut the processing (loading) time of the front page down by half and has also paved way for future improvements. I've also improved the signup page a bit. :: Fan art automatically given more logical filenames :: (21 November 2005) Previously, if you saved a fan art image from this website, the filename would be something like 758.jpg - very confusing to sort through later and doesn't give the artist proper credit. Now, that filename will be (for example) Greykitty_-_Steele_[BC758].jpg.
